Update to CGHA PTS/Release Policy

2024-03-21

Important Update: PTS/RELEASE

The CGHA has updated its requirements as it pertains to player PTS forms and player releases. Please read below.

CGHA will no longer issue “Permission to Skate". If a player wishes to try out for another association, they will be granted a release.

The reason for the change is the paperwork involved is significant for everyone. This will allow a player to tryout at other associations with no restrictions. They may return to CGHA the same season provided there is space/availability.

Along with many other associations, we are focused on putting an end to the practice of team shopping, and the tremendous organizational demands and costs associated with the activities of a few. We wish to emphasize that the CGHA is a not-for-profit volunteer operated organization, which has decided that the costs and risks associated with this activity should be moved from the already over taxed coach and Executive volunteers of our Association, to the players/parents involved in the activity.
