Silver medalists

The Cornwall Typhoons Midget AA team recently participated in the Rochester Fire on Ice tournament. The Typhoons lost in the Finals in a shootout to the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 2-1. The Typhoons were 3-0-1 in the round robin and won their semi final 2-0 over the Selects Academy. The Typhoons put on a defensive clinic in the tournament giving up only 4 goals in regulation throughout their 6 games. Congratulations Typhoons!

Our Typhoons demonstrated true class when they presented the 2 Nations Brampton associaiton with a plaque in memory of Harry Welten.  Harry passed away after being struck by a car while out running.  He was Brampton's tournament scheduler and statistician, and extremely knowledgeable about the skill, strength and competitive levels of women's hockey teams across Canada and the United States.

Both of his daughters played for the Cornwall Girls Hockey Association, so as a memorial to Harry, our girls were invited to participate in this year's tournament.
